Immigration Quota Act

June 4th 2010 11:55
In 1921 there was an addition to the law called the Emergency Quota Act. This restricted immigration to 3 percent of individuals from any country to come into the United States legal. This act was enforced prior to the law that provided the definitions I gave you on the last post. That is why I thought I would bring this up. Because the Immigration Act of 1924 restricted immigration to 2 percent of people from any nation to come to the United States legally and the percent was less for African nations. The 1924 law which we have begun discussing also excluded Asians. The National Origins Formula which gave quotas or restricted the numbers of people coming into the United States from other countries was repelled in 1965.
