Who Gets Colin Powell?

It pays to be an independent sometimes, and no one has profited more by that role as Colin Powell. He was NSA for Bill Clinton and Sec of State for George W. Bush. Although, he might have some issues with the Republican party's treatment of him. So, where does the Powell loyalty lie? Well, no one knows really. It is said that he is friends with John McCain, but has been complimenting Barack Obama.
Powell said he was "taking joy" in Obama's rise and he said citizens across the country can "enjoy this moment where a person like Barack Obama can knock down all of these old barriers that people thought existed with respect to the opportunities that are available to African Americans." source:The Nation
So does this mean that Colin Powell will ditch his friend just to vote for an African American? That is a tough call, but it has been the main elephant in the room. Robert Novak thinks that Powell will endorse Obama, which would be a huge blow to McCain, and probably another one of those Judas moments we have seen this election cycle.
Some are even wondering if Obama will choose Powell as a running mate. That would be a little tricky, but it would be interesting. Obama would take a slight hit because Powell was the one who made the case for the Iraq war. Although, he has be a constant critic of how it has been carried out. He was so much of a critic that Bush said, "Bye! Bye!"
My only flaw with Powell is that he is a flip flopper. No one knows where his true loyalties run, so he really can't be fully trusted by anyone. Further, how could Obama make a case against McCain for being too old when Powell is roughly the same age (April 1937)?
I think Powell will pull an Al Gore and wait until it does not matter anymore, so he can be "friends" with both men.
