Who Will replace Tim Russert?
June 17th 2008 01:13
Many are already trying to figure out who will be the replacement for Tim Russert on "Meet the Press." I have some theories that I will present now.
1. Tom Brokaw: People trust him, they know him
2. Chris Wallace, personally mentored by Tim Russert, but he might still be a llttle too new for that responsibility. On the other hand, a fresh face could be a plus.
3. Chris Matthews: Too volitile and likes to step on his guests.
3. Keith O: No, not really.
4. Katie Couric: Interesting, provacative choice, but too sweet to take people down.
5. James and Mary: Now that would be drama with this husband and wife team. You'd be too busy watching them to pay attention to the interview.
Ok, that's all I can think of for now, but I think that it will be some time before a real host is chosen. Until then either, Tom Brokaw or a rotating host.

I do like James Carvelle though...but too opinionated. He has the passion and excitement.

One thing you MUST do, though, is pick someone who's political position isn't written on his/her sleeve. That would disqualify Chris Matthews, David Gregory, and Britt Hume for example. Carville would be a circus even if accompanied by his sane wife. and I don't think NBC really wants to go the way of a "tag team" liberal/conservative route.
We just need Tim back...
